Tell us something unique about yourself that no one would guess … I’m a bit of a thrill seeker. I’ve been sky diving, bungee jumping, cliff diving, and I’m open water scuba certified. I love anything fast – cars, motorcycles, roller coasters, etc.
Tell us what made you decide on your career path … As a child, I spent most of my time outdoors. Usually in the timber exploring and building tree houses. I’ve always liked envisioning something and then seeing it built. I’ve also always enjoyed drawing, and I enjoyed geometry class in school. I think the other reason I chose architecture was the awe inspiring feeling I felt as a child visiting great architecture while on vacations with my family.
Tell us about your favorite hobby outside of the office … Outside the office, I enjoy traveling. Experiencing different cultures is one of my favorite things about travel. I believe it fosters empathy. I also enjoy seeing different architecture while traveling. As a young boy, I would constantly be looking up at the buildings while on vacation. I tend to still look up. It’s not hard to spot an architect on vacation, look for the person looking up and touching the building materials.
