How did you decide on your career path?
I wish I could say I always knew I wanted to be an architect, but that’s not my story. I explored several different avenues before I realized I had an affinity for design. Once I discovered architecture and learned what it was all about, I realized it was the perfect fit, because it allows me to be creative in finding solutions to challenges. I love the feeling of ‘solving the puzzle.’
What is your favorite part of the design process?
I enjoy the process of piecing together different design ideas to make spaces that coordinate and work together. Doing all that while working within the constraints of the environment is highly rewarding.
How are you creating vibrant communities through design?
One of the things I love about FEH is our dedication to our clients’ success. One way we do that is by providing Spark Sessions, where we engage with the owner, end user and the community. We listen to everyone’s ideas and sketch out plans to meet their needs and desires for a new building. These sessions allow us to design buildings that exceed the expectations of the people who use them.
