South O'Brien Schools

South O'Brien CSD   /    Paullina and Primghar, Iowa

The South O’Brien Community School District sought to enhance its educational offerings and modernize its facilities. To address these needs, FEH Design was engaged to conduct a comprehensive facility assessment and space planning study. The evaluation identified critical areas for improvement and expansion. The project moved forward following a successful bond referendum, facilitated by FEH Design.

High School Additions:

  • Science Wing: Modern science classrooms and labs to support STEAM education.
  • Community Center: A hub for district events and community engagement.
  • Administration Offices: Centralized administrative spaces to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
  • Fitness Center and Gymnasium: Branded athletic facilities to support physical education and sports programs.
  • Ag and Industrial Arts Spaces: Enhanced vocational training classrooms and shop.

Elementary School Renovation:

  • Auditorium: Adding performance equipment and seating to the existing gymnasium to replace the demolished early 1900s high school auditorium.

The new facilities will support a broader curriculum, enhance athletic and community engagement opportunities, and provide modern spaces for both academic and extracurricular activities. These improvements reflect the district’s commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering community growth.

FEH Design is proud to partner with South O’Brien Community School District in this transformative project, ensuring that the district’s facilities meet the needs of current and future generations of students.
