Anna’s childhood hobby turned into her dream career. As an interior designer, she finds fulfillment in helping others achieve their goals and using her creativity to create vibrant spaces.

How did you decide on your career path?

As a child, I always found myself wanting to rearrange my bedroom furniture, constantly thinking of the best layout. In high school, I took an interior design class and realized that it was my true passion. I find fulfillment in assisting others in achieving their goals while problem-solving and using my creativity.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

The conceptual design phase. Once programming is laid out and our client’s expectations are known, the creative process is at full speed! The initial concept and ideas begin to form; inspiration images and finishes are collected and you start putting together an overall scheme.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

I am new to the commercial design world, and I am seeing that design is a valuable aspect of every community. Whether it is a communal space, such as a public library or school, or a more private space like a small business, designing the most functional and aesthetic spaces not only makes the specific individual happy but also the community.

What makes Des Moines a great place to live?

We recently moved from South Florida to West Des Moines, and we are loving it here! Our neighborhood is peaceful and charming, surrounded by gorgeous old trees. And just a short two blocks away, we have access to the hustle and bustle of the city – with everything we could need at our fingertips. From the mall and a variety of restaurants, to events and activities for all ages throughout the year, there’s always something going on here!
