This project began with an FEH Spark Session gathering community input on the Polk City’s Fire Station and City Hall. Renovations to the fire station included a day room, dining area, kitchen, locker space, showers, sleeping rooms, and the repurposing of apparatus bay support rooms. Other improvements included the installation of a fire barrier, an elevator, and minor upper-level renovations. These upgrades will allow for better access between all department rooms, resulting in faster and safer response times. Furthermore, the facility underwent updates including the replacement of the building’s sanitary sewer, upgrades to the Station Alerting system, and enhancements to the Vehicle Exhaust System in the Apparatus Bay.
