Q&A with Intern Architect Noah

How did you decide on your career path?

I’ve always had an appreciation for architecture from a young age and have always wondered how and why architects design the way they do. This interest has led me down the path of architecture. During my studies at South Dakota State University, I interned at FEH and now I’m excited to be here full-time!

What is your favorite part of the design process?

My favorite part of the design process is design development and documentation. I really enjoy seeing the concept become further developed and come to life.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

At AIA Iowa’s “Bee an Architect,” FEH Design invited kids to learn about careers in architecture. We showed the kids some blueprints of their school that we designed, drew pictures, and built with Legos. It was fun to hang out with the community and spread the joy of architecture with them.

Where is your favorite place to visit in the Midwest?

The Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. It’s such a fun building with its corn façade and deep history. Whenever I drive by the city, I always try to stop by and go to it.
