Q&A with Intern Architect Lexie

How did you decide on your career path?

In school, I was always an art kid, but I really enjoyed doing math as well, so I wanted to do something that incorporated both! Designing and creating is equally as important as figuring out the math and technicalities – it just makes it more challenging (and fun)!

What is your favorite part of the design process?

I love doing schematic design! I love being able to iterate and use my creativity and get the clients super excited about our ideas.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

Good design can help foster great communities, and I believe that all designers have the power to do this. Focusing on communities first, through Spark Sessions or just listening to other people, leads to projects that are community and people-focused.

What makes Milwaukee a great place to live?

Definitely Lake Michigan! So many beaches and parks to explore along the lake!
