Q&A with Project Designer Daniel

How did you decide on your career path?

My dream in life is to design and build my own house. Initially, I wanted to study Urbanism in college, but as I attended the first-year courses, which were the same as in architecture, I decided to stick with this career. I found it to be the perfect combination of topics such as science, geometry, history, and of course, design.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

That’s hard to answer! But, I would say design development. This is because it’s the stage where you refine and polish your initial ideas.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

When I was in college, I had the opportunity to do several community projects. I realized the importance of listening and understanding people’s needs to make designs useful and successful.

Where is your favorite place to visit in the Midwest?

Chicago! It’s an amazing city with lots to do and see. Plus, the architecture (historic and contemporary) is very interesting.
