BILL DECKER

Bill has over 35 years of experience in educational leadership, having served as an AEA Administrator, Superintendent, and Principal. Now as an Education Facility Planner at FEH Design, Bill leverages his extensive background to help schools enhance their facilities, creating optimal learning environments for students. His expertise ensures that educational spaces are both innovative and effective, fostering success for future generations.

How did you decide on your career path?

I have always aimed to leave everything I work with in a better state than I found it. Over the past 37 years, I have focused on achieving this goal in the field of education, frequently collaborating with FEH to enhance facilities. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to be a valuable resource in assisting school districts in improving their learning environments and communities. My objective is to work closely with districts to showcase FEH’s capacity to bring about positive change for the benefit of their students.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

I enjoy developing spaces that truly cater to the needs and desires of a community.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

I bring expertise in community planning, superintendent/board/community communications, and staff involvement. I can be a resource in bond passage and district finance.

Where is your favorite place to visit in the Midwest?

Table Rock Lake in Missouri, especially the quiet side of the lake, far to the west of Branson. The water is clear, the folks are friendly, and you can boat for an entire day without seeing the same shoreline twice.
