The historic Riviera Theatre sat empty and in disrepair alongside the entertainment and restaurant establishments in Sioux City’s downtown district. Developers Jeff and Rachel Carlson knew the building could be community hub, so they teamed up with FEH Design to revitalize the 1971 building.
The building was renamed RE/MAX City Centre and is now a commercial and entertainment hybrid facility. Three theater spaces were reimagined into commercial tenant spaces, including the RE/MAX Experience office. The fourth theater was retained and renovated to host community speakers and film showings. The classic “RIVIERA” exterior letters were relocated and highlighted inside the theater space. The lobby which serves all tenants, features networking spaces with a variety of seating options and a wet bar.
