The renovation of Morningside Branch Library included a reconfigured and expanded layout, a playful children’s area, a new centralized service desk with self-check technology, new study rooms, new exterior windows and interior finishes. The building’s original wood arch design was kept, and a bright blue/green color palette was used bringing new life to the space. Special attention was given to the children’s area which features a large “tree” feature with color-changing LED lighting, curved shelving, accessible book bins and a 3-D magnetic board. Exterior upgrades included a new roof, masonry repairs and new paving.
“Matt Basye and the team at FEH, took our ideas, many of which were suggestions from the community, and brought them to life.”
