Viking Theatre

Grand View University    /    Des Moines, Iowa

The Viking Theatre was originally constructed in 1980 and was designed as a “theater in the round”. After thirty years of hard use, the facility was in great need of remodeling and refurbishing. The FEH DESIGN team worked in a collaborative effort with the Grand View administrative and departmental staff to analyze their needs and funds available and prioritize items that needed to be addressed in the remodeling project. The resulting project included providing a new exterior skin, adding a scene shop with loading dock, updating the interior finishes with new theater seating and dramatic new lighting.
