Rasmussen Center

The design for the Rasmussen Center represents a mix of the old and new Grand View University.  It incorporates the stately identifying features of the “Old Main” Humphrey Center with modern amenities.  Located on the very prominent corner of Grandview Avenue and East 14^th Street in Des Moines, it has become the new gateway to the campus.  The 40,000 sf facility houses several academic programs including the following departments: Art and Graphic Design, Education, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Political Science.  In addition, the building provides space for the University’s Center for Teaching and Learning, the Writing Center, and College for Professional and Adult Learning.   It has since been connected to the new Student Center building and Viking Theatre across East 14^th Street via a skywalk.
