Eager Free Public Library

Evansville, Wisconsin

The Eager Free Public Library has been a center for cultural and civic events since its construction in 1908.  In 2019 construction was completed on a new 8,000 square feet addition.  The addition includes a new entrance which expanded the existing lobby and provided more visibility for visitors.  The expansion also encompasses a new children’s and a young adult collection area on the lower level, including an exterior patio off the Children’s area.  The upper-level houses administrative spaces, adult collections, study rooms, and technology space.

The existing space received new finishes, to provide an updated look.  The lower level received additional restrooms, a youth program room, and updated meeting rooms.  The upper level houses a new local history space with a new books section.  The upper level of the 1908 building was restored and converted into a quiet reading space with perimeter collections.  The result is a new space that is functional for staff and patrons love spending time in.
