SANTOS A. RAMOS

Originally from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Santos moved to Laredo, Texas when he was a teenager. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005. With experience at multiple architectural firms and design-build construction companies, he brings a solid foundation in both design and project delivery to the FEH team. Outside of work, Santos loves spending time outdoors and you can probably find him at gym most days! 

How did you decide on your career path?

I was drawn to architecture because it combines creativity with practical problem-solving. I enjoy designing spaces that positively impact the people who use them.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

My favorite part of the design process is the programming and site analysis phase. I enjoy studying the site’s context, identifying its opportunities and constraints, and meeting with clients to understand their goals, operational needs, and vision for the project. Establishing how the spaces will be used provides the foundation for developing a functional design that responds to its context and aligns with the client’s objectives.

How are you creating vibrant communities through design?

I create vibrant communities through design by creating functional, welcoming spaces that support everyday life, connection, and well-being. My experience with multifamily residential projects has shown me how thoughtfully designed homes and shared spaces can foster a sense of community. Through dental office projects, I have also learned the importance of designing efficient and comfortable environments that support both patients and staff.
