Emma was our original Director of Goodness, who will always hold a special place in our hearts. Every wag, every greeting, every treat, every moment of joy reminded us what Goodness truly feels like.
Emma wasn’t just our four-legged friend… she was truly a member of Team Purple. As our original Director of Goodness, she brought joy to every person who walked through our Des Moines office doors. Her presence made our office feel like family.
Emma’s days were filled with perimeter patrols, design approvals and critiques, and well-deserved naps. She took her role seriously: boosting morale, spreading kindness, and reminding us that a little love (and peanut butter) goes a long way.
Though she may no longer be by our side, her legacy of Goodness lives on in how we care for each other, find fun in everyday moments, and greet the world with joy. Emma was more than a companion; she was a reminder of how much Goodness there is in this world.

What does an office day of an architecture dog look like?
Several perimeter checks, the occasional nap, and checking of all waste baskets for old pizza crusts. Sometimes I even bark at the delivery drivers.
What does Director of Goodness (D.O.G.) mean to you?
Boosting the moral of the office is a task I take very seriously, so I make sure I greet everyone with a big smile a rapidly wagging tail. Everyone at the office is very friendly and seems to appreciate my approach to my work. A well-performing office needs to be fulfilled with goodness!
What makes Des Moines a great place to live?
Des Moines is increasingly dog-friendly and has many great parks and recreational opportunities. My papa Cory takes me on all kinds of adventures where I get to run, swim, and play in the mud – Des Moines is so much fun!
