Tell us what made you decide on your career path… I chose Interior Design as my career path because I realized that this profession is all about bettering the lives of those around us. Whether that is designing a space that helps somebody relax, focus, or be inspired. Growing up I always was more gifted when it came to the creative side of things. So I decided to take that strength and put it towards a career. After a year into the Interior Design program at Iowa State, I knew this is what I was meant to do.
Tell us about someone that inspires you … One of my biggest inspirations is my grandma. She taught me that if there is something you want in life you need to work hard and stay determined. She always pushed me to pursue something that made me happy at the end of the day. For many years she worked hard at owning and managing our family restaurant Jesse’s Embers and caring for her family, always putting others before herself. I hope one day I can be half as great of a grandma as she was to my sisters and I.
Tell us about your favorite hobby outside of the office … One of my favorite things to do outside of the office is cheering on my Iowa State Cyclones. My family has what we call the “Cyco Bus” that we drive up to every football game and tailgate in. It is a school bus that is completely decked out in cyclone gear. Go Clones!
